  • Lakeside Humanist Ceremony Area: Say your vows by the water, with the lake as your backdrop—perfect for creating those ‘wow’ moments.

  • Three Giant Kata Tipis: Your reception space, complete with wooden floors and everything you need:

    • 20 dining tables, 38 benches, 38 chairs, and two high chairs (plus two extra tables for good measure).

    • Dancefloor and Zone Array sound system to keep the party going. (The DJ can bring the disco lights or plug in your playlist and let it play!)

  • Stretch Tent (15mx10m): An extra undercover space for chilling out, catching up, or dodging any unexpected British weather.

  • PA System: For your ceremony, speeches, and those toasts that’ll go down in history.

  • Outdoor Lighting: Uplighters and festoon lighting will bring the lake to life, setting the perfect mood for your evening.

  • Fire Pit: End the night gathered around the fire pit and we’ll provide a speaker so you can keep the music going.

  • Bridal Bell Tent: A complimentary bell tent for the newlyweds when glamping with your guests.

  • Camp Kitchen: This is a handy space for your glamping guests (though your caterers will have their own setup).

  • Bar Services: Make the most of our elm bar and choose from our drinks packages.

  • Luxury Shepherd’s Hut Loos: Fully equipped loos that can handle up to 180 guests—keeping things comfortable even in the great outdoors.

At Chalkney Water Meadows, we provide a range of luxurious and unique accommodation options to make your wedding celebration unforgettable. Whether you're looking for a peaceful lakeside cabin for the newlyweds or a fun glamping experience for your guests, our accommodations ensure everyone stays in comfort and style.

We offer two luxury cabins and 20 Nomadic tents on-site (additional tents can be added), all furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, a table and two chairs, full bedding, and bath towels. 15 of the tents have a basic power supply, while 5 include battery lanterns for a cosy, off-grid vibe. We also provide a dedicated "Getting Ready" tent equipped with full-length mirrors and plug sockets, along with a camp kitchen for guests to use throughout their stay.

  • It features an open-plan living area, a log burner, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and a private hot tub.

  • Pricing: £280 per night for two guests, £30 per night for additional guests (minimum 3-night stay).

catering

We have hand selected a list of fantastic suppliers, who offer a range of catering options from formal wedding breakfasts, to festival food trucks to suit all tastes! We would encourage you to use our prefered caterers, but if you have another supplier in mind we would be happy to discuss this with you further.

bar services

Browning Bros provides in-house bar services. Please see our bar packages for more information. The bar remains open until midnight.

music policy

Daytime: Non-amplified musicians (e.g., guitarists or string quartets) or a playlist through our venue's PA system.
Evening 7 pm-11 pm: DJ or playlist through venue Zone Array Sound System in the Tipis.
From 11 p.m. onwards, guests can enjoy light background music from the campfire (speaker provided by Browning Bros). Please be respectful of noise levels.

extra hire items

  • Keep the party going with one of our preferred DJs (available from 5pm - 11pm, or earlier if you want to get the vibes started sooner). We’ll provide the DJ stand and disco lights. Want something more personal? You can also hook up your own playlist to our speakers—no extra charge!

  • Don’t fancy cleaning up? Do a runner, and we’ll handle the mess! Or, if you’re feeling responsible, leave the site as you found it—just separate your rubbish into general waste and glass, bag it up, and we’ll call it a day.

  • Want to dial up the festival vibes? We’ve got 6 bright, bold flags that’ll have your guests feeling like they’ve stepped into a boho wonderland.

  • Get your guests mingling with a bit of friendly competition. Get in touch for the full list of lawn games to keep the good times rolling.

  • Hire in hay bales for extra seating to create a hay bale sofa or pretty circles on the lawn - £3 per bale.

    Well, where do we begin, we have just had the most magical wedding day at Chalkney Water Meadows.. we fell in love with the venue on our first visit on a cold January morning, and almost 9 months later, it turned out to be everything we had dreamed of and so more. We worked closely with our Event Manager Meg, who was a star. Everything was perfect! The staff on the day were unbelievable, our guests booked the lodges fantastic and over 40 bell tents. The feedback we’ve had from everyone just prove how wonderful it all was! We would recommend the venue and the team to anyone looking for their dream day.

    We had always wanted an outdoor wedding, and if that’s you, then Browning Bros is the place to do it!! The venue is just beautiful, big, and well looked after. We had the venue Friday through Sunday and stayed in one of their cabins, which was also perfect.

    We chose Chalky Water Meadows over their other venue as it has the wow factor!!! Guests all commented on how lovely this venue is. We were told the glamping tents were comfy and warm. The team is very laid-back ( which on the day is what we needed). The Bar staff are amazing, a real asset to the team. We highly recommend Browning Bros & Chalkney.
