Step into Spring: Group Glamping Breaks in North Essex

Winter is finally over, and spring has sprung, bringing with it warmer weather and longer days. With all the recent atrocities going on around the world, it’s more important than ever to spend quality time with our loved ones – after all, that’s what’s most important in life. What better way to do this than glamping in the beautiful Essex countryside?

Teybrook Orchard Glampsite

Tucked away between an apple orchard and 20 acres of ancient woodland, Teybrook Orchard provides a wonderfully secluded spot for group glamping. We are situated just six miles from the bustling old town of Colchester, at just under an hour’s drive from central London. Whisk your friends or family away for a peaceful stay in the countryside and feel all your worries simply disappear.

Nat and Archie, owners of Browning Bros, spent their childhoods building dens and roaming free on their expansive family farm – and when they grew up, they turned it into a business! Our glorious glamping site boasts acres upon acres of beautiful countryside and wonderful woodlands to wander through, combined with some pretty amazing accommodation options…

Quirky Glamping Accommodation

Teybrook Orchard is home to an exciting and eclectic mix of modern glamping accommodations, ranging from beautiful bell tents to handcrafted Mongolian yurts. Couples also have the option to stay in an incredible refurbished grain silo or romantic shepherd’s hut.

Our luxury bell tents and handcrafted yurts are all named after characters from The Jungle Book or The Lion King, comfortably sleeping between 1-6 people across a double bed and up to four single mattresses. Let the kids revel in the thrill of sleeping in a tent or exotic yurt, whilst still enjoying the home comforts of real beds. Featuring fantastic furnishings, luxury bedding, dazzling décor and even an LED lamp and charging points, you are guaranteed to feel right at home at Teybrook Orchard. Each tent and yurt also comes with its own fire pit, BBQ and outdoor picnic table. What could be better than cooking and eating alfresco, as the stars twinkle above you?!

Our refurbished grain silo is a real showstopper, boasting a snug double bed and gorgeous furnishings. The highlight of this round, pillar box-style accommodation that was once used to store the annual grain harvest is the spectacular skylight, allowing you to truly sleep under the stars. Our romantic shepherd’s hut features a small wood burner and comfy double bed, providing an authentic back-to-nature glamping experience.

On-Site Glamping Facilities

Love camping but don’t love the lack of facilities? Browning Bros has got you covered! We have a fully equipped communal kitchen on site, featuring 2 gas ovens, 5 fridges, a freezer, a toaster, a kettle, and all the pots and pans you could possibly need to whip up a delicious dinner for all the family to enjoy. There’s even a wood-fired pizza oven if you fancy a pizza night! We have a large marquee on site with a tennis table and football table to accommodate for rainy days, as well as a covered seating area attached to the kitchen for alfresco dining.

Our modern toilet and shower building “The Wash House” boasts 4 hot showers, 4 toilets and 2 urinals, allowing you to freshen up in style. Each dwelling has its own individual fire pit and BBQ, but there is also a large communal charcoal BBQ and fire pit for groups. If you’re looking to relax and unwind, we even have a wood-fired hot tub in the woodland on site which is available for guests to hire!

Things to Do Whilst Glamping

Worried about how you’ll keep the kids entertained on your upcoming glamping break? Browning Bros was born out of Nat and Archie’s childhood adventures in the woods; climbing trees, building dens, and exploring the riverbeds. We encourage all our guests to spend time in the great outdoors and embark upon their own outdoor antics. Spend your days exploring the trails at Chalkney Woods, roaming the acres of unspoilt countryside or toasting marshmallows on the campfire. Fun and entertainment guaranteed!

If you’re hoping to get out and about during your stay, we are situated near various local attractions for all the family to enjoy. Walk, cycle or sail at Ardleigh Reservoir, sunbathe and swim at Frinton-on-Sea or Clacton-on-Sea, indulge in some bird watching at Abberton Reservoir, or enjoy a great day out at Colchester Zoo. The world is your oyster!

Spring & Summer Staycations at Browning Bros

We currently have some last-minute availability from 1st-3rd April for exclusive hire or general glamping. If you would like to join us on the farm and enjoy a few nights under the stars, please get in touch for availability and bookings.
